Montreal, January 13th, 2009 – Des pas dans la neige was the greatest year-end surprise in Quebec music industry. With the unanimous reviews already crowning it a Christmas season classic, Maryse Letarte's album has remained among the best sellers throughout the holidays, rising to rank #4 of francophone best sellers in Quebec the week of December 22 (source: Nielsen SoundScan / LE Palmarès). Quite a feat considering that the album was not available in any department store such as Wal-Mart, Costco, Zellers. The album has even reached #1 most downloaded Christmas albums on iTunes Canada. And yet in this week of January 5th, Des pas dans la neige is the #10 selling francophone album in Quebec (source: Nielsen SoundScan / THE Awards)... as what one finds on this album an inspiration that goes well beyond Christmas. Note also that the song "Boom Boom" was among Guy A. Lepage's musical selections for "Tout le monde en parle" year-end TV special (2 million viewers) and that Des pas dans la neige figures among the 10 best albums of 2008 according to journalist Marie-Christine Blais of La Presse. After having given numerous interviews, Maryse Letarte now returns to the production of a new album that she had started before launching Des pas dans la neige . Both projects had also at some point lived together in the songwriter-producer's studio for several months. This new album should be ready during 2009.
